Problem Solving World of Tan

My Reflection

I have been learning to use logical thinking to problem solve.  We did an Nrich acticity called World of Tan which is abour solving tangram puzzles.

I was able to find the right pieces and put them in the correct places.

I found this tricky because some of the pieces won´t fit where you put them.

My next step is to find it more easy for me when im onto my next level.

                         

My Korowai

My Reflection

I have been working on my korowai for the last 2 terms.

Then we had a art evening in our classes.

My most favorite part about my korowai is when I was doing the patterns.

Stanley Yelnats Character Description

 I am learning to write a Character description.
I was able to descrive and explain character traits,similarties and differences with exampls from the text.
I found this easy because there is alot about Stanley in the book.
My next step is to write a Character Description in my next reading follow up.

I was able to make a prediction about a story called Holes for my reading follow up.

I found this easy because the blurb helped me to write the answer for the questions.

My next step is to use prediction in my next reading Activiy.

Kelly Tarltonś Trip

                                 Hi!This is my Trip to Kelly Tarlton.It was awesome day when we went.
                               We went to kelly Tarlton to take a 1 hour lesson and do a scanvenger hunt.
                            I learnt many things like by catching,Global warming,Trolling and why sand tiger                             sharks are now extinct.Our day at Kelly tarlton was the best.

100 word challenge

I am learning to write 100 words in a story.

 I was able to use atleast 3 similes in my writing

I found this easy because the ship wreck was in a storm and all I needed was to write and describe it

My next step is to use at least 50 words instead of 100

I am learning find and summarise information by choosing the most important information in a text.
I was able to understand how the information relates to the main topic
I found this challenging because Mars is a different planet then our and theres no oxygen no water and no food and the solutions was a bit complicated.
My next step is to make it more easy for me and find more solutions.

Learning to Use Standard Measures

       My Reflection
I have been learning to use a standard unit of measurement to measure things.I found this confusing because of the inches.My next step is to use millimeters.

I have been learning to recognise and understand specific language features.We have been learning about metaphors and similes.I think I have have a good understanding of metaphors and similes.I think I am stilling learning about metaphors and similes.My next step is to discuss the impact of language features.

I have been learning to understand the cause and effects of a events in a text.In the novel Wonder, there are lots of things that happen which causes effects the out come of an event or action by on of the characters)I found this easy because the Dictionary helped me and I know my punctuation.
My next step is to understand the purple of the characters in the story.

I have been learning to make cause and effect connections in a story

I was able to do this by reading up to part 4 and knowing the causes and effects
I found this tricky because the cause sometimes comes first or second so then the effect would be first
My next step is to get better at my cause and effect when the effect comes first.

Features of Explanation Writing

I have been learning the features of explanation writing.The features of an explanation text are use topic-specific words.I found this a little easy.The reason why is because your mostly just talking about one thing.My next step is to write my own explanation using the features.

Wonder Part 3

I am learning to make a sentences and match them up with the right one.

I was able to do this by looking at the book and seeing what each word meant

I found this easy because I read the part of the book and found the meaning of it.

Making connection

I am learning to Describe my friend with Jack Will in the Movie Wonder.
I was able to do this by reading the book where Jack Will in and Siella is my friend and we love doing funny acts.
I found this easy because Describing them is very easy because I know a lot about them.
My next step is to use more Describing words.

I am learning to make a cause and effect in a book called wonder.
I was a bit confusing at first but then I got the hang of it.
I found this easy because I read the book wonder up to page 80 and knew all of what happend.
My next step is to use more of the information that I know about.

I have been learning to make a justified prediction of a book.
A justified prediction is Something that is true and it have evidence from the the text ,cover or blurb.
I found it easy to make a justified prediction because the blurb can back up my words because it true.
My next step is to compare visual information with blurb,title and contents, to justify predictions.

Spelling-The K sound

I was surprised that que could make the K sound.
